CT Image Quality Phantom
The CT image quality phantom is designed and built with eight main cylinders to measure CT number accuracy, slice thickness accuracy, geometric accuracy, spatial resolution, point spread function (PSF), edge spread function (ESF), modulation transfer function (MTF), contrast resolution and uniformity.
In this phantom, spatial resolution can be measured in terms of the number of cycles per unit length, the number of pairs of lines per unit length, and the PSF, ESF, and MTF. In addition, in the designed phantom, the spatial resolution can be measured up to 21 pairs of lines per centimeter. Also in this phantom, the contrast resolution consisted of six sets of cylinders with different contrasts and sizes.
The CT image quality phantom is capable of evaluating a wide range of parameters affecting CT image quality. In addition to performing quality control tests, this phantom can be used to optimize noise and dose reduction techniques
